Batik is a wax dyeing technique dating back to the ancient island of Java, Indonesia. Famous for its floral and geometric patterns, it is considered a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage and a symbol of elegance and ritual throughout the East.
From this inspiration was born the idea of merging Friulian and Asian cultures, creating Friulane shoes handmade in Italy with original Batik fabrics sourced from distant Eastern markets. The result is a timeless, limited-edition shoe: comfortable, refined, and unique in every detail.
Inspiration: Raja Ampat, where the ocean explodes with color
During a trip to far eastern Indonesia, we ventured to Raja Ampat, a remote archipelago off the coast of West Papua, considered one of the world's most extraordinary natural paradises. Here, nature remains pristine, and the sea harbors unparalleled biodiversity.
Raja Ampat is located in the heart of the Coral Triangle, the planet's richest marine area, and is one of the world's most sought-after diving destinations. Beneath the surface, a surprising universe unfolds: gardens of hard and soft corals that extend as far as the eye can see, including spectacular Acropora, branching corals, and soft Dendronephthya, renowned for their intense hues.
Among these formations are incredible shades of red, purple, and magenta, vivid and deep colors that shift with the currents and create unique underwater landscapes. This ecosystem is home to some of the ocean's most fascinating creatures: majestic manta rays, reef sharks, sea turtles, schools of barracuda, and an infinite variety of tropical fish.

We recommend that you do not machine wash them: instead, use a soft sponge or a cloth dampened with cold water (and, if necessary, a drop of mild soap). Gently dab the surface without rubbing and let them air dry, away from heat sources.
For the silk versions, use only a damp cloth, without soap.
The rubber sole can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth.
